Restaurant Industry Workers’ Compensation
The restaurant industry is one of the most fast pace industries where cutting costs might have the greatest impact on the success of a profitable restaurant. In the state of New York workers compensation is more of tax than it is insurance.
In an industry where lowering operating costs are such a key to profitability why would you pay more for this coverage (tax) than you have too. When workers’ compensation isn’t addressed every couple of years it can often lead to premiums rising by thousands of dollars.
The analogy I use is; Hypothetically if there are two identical restaurants in every single aspect (food, drinks, atmosphere, everything) besides Restaurant A charged you 15% more and Restaurant B was 15% less why would you go to restaurant A? So then why would you pay more for Workers’ Compensation when coverage is identical on every single policy.
No matter if you are a large restaurant with ten locations or small mom & pop restaurant why pay more for an insurance legally necessary where coverage doesn’t change.
